PENGGUNAAN HADIS-HADIS POLIGAMI DALAM TAFSIR IBNU KATSIR

This paper tries to explore the use of hadith regarding with polygamy in interpreting surah An-Nisa 03 on polygamy. One of the prominent moslem scholar, Ibnu Katsir interpret this verse with hadiths. By using historical method, this paper concludes that Al-Nisa: 3 related to socio-cultural context of Arab society in revelation period. To understand this verse will be insufficient if we analyze it in linguistical-literal aspect, without concerning on the historical context of asbabun nuzul, both micro and macro context.
[Artikel ini mencoba mengeksplorasi penggunaan hadis-hadis mengenai poligami dalam menafsiri QS. An-Nisa: 03. Salah satu tokoh tafsir kenamaan, Ibnu Katsir, mencoba menginterpretasikan ayat tersebut dengan hadis. Dengan mempergunakan pendekatan historis tulisan ini berkesimpulan bahwa QS. An-Nisa’ 3 terkait dengan konteks sosio-kultural masyarakat Arab pada masa pewahyuan. Memahami ayat ini tidak cukup hanya dengan menggunakan pendekatan literal-linguistiknya semata, namun harus memahami bagaimana konteks historis dari asbabun nuzul, baik konteks mikro maupun makronya.]
