Abstract

Abstract. A marriage is carried out to fulfill human biological needs, it has been written in the Qur'an that to complete half of religion, namely by marriage. In Islam there are marriages that are allowed and also prohibited for several reasons, one of which is breast-feeding marriage. The prohibition of breast-feeding marriage has been set by Allah in the holy book of the Qur'an which has its own scientific reasons, especially in medical and genetic matters. This article will discuss the prohibition of breastfeeding in terms of Islamic law and also in terms of medical. A review of Islamic law to find out what resulted in the prohibition of breast-feeding marriage. Whereas in medical terms it is used to reveal scientific reasons why breast-feeding marriages are prohibited in Islam by knowing what is contained in breast milk. Through a literature review approach in medical studies, it is known that in breast milk there is an element of genetic material in the form of Micro-RNA (miRNA). miRNA can bind to the mRNA chain where this will be able to affect the results of protein synthesis formed through mRNA translation. This is thought to have the potential to cause a genetic relationship in breast-fed siblings. In this paper, the author uses a normative juridical approach by analyzing data taken from journals, books, and articles that can be regarded as library research.
