Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the data was collected through documentation, interviews, and observation. The study found that: 1) the leadership style of the headmaster in Tunas Teladan Elementary School, Palembang, is democratic combination with family values, but occasionally in certain situations he applies an authoritarian leadership pattern; 2) the leadership style brought about positive implications for the quality of students, both viewed from academic and non-academic aspects. Based on the results of these studies, it is expected that the leadership pattern of the school principals in Tunas Teladan Elementary School Palembang can be learnt as an example model for managers of educational institutions, both formal and non-formal, especially in improving the quality of students.</p> Kris Setyaningsih Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-15 2019-07-15 4 1 1 18 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-01 UU Pesantren: Local Genius dan Intervensi Negara terhadap Pesantren <p style="text-align: justify;">There is no doubt that pesantrens have a real contribution to the development of education. Historically, they&nbsp; have extensive experiences in fostering and developing the community. In fact, pesantrens are able to increase their role independently by exploring the potential of the communities around them. Improving the role of pesantren is a strategic step in building national development goals, especially in the education sector. For this reason, to develop their potential, the government drafted pesantren and religious law. On the contrary, the draft of law raises anxiety among pesantrens because it is perceived to disturb their management.&nbsp; In addition, it may become the tool for government intervention in Islamic boarding school system, which in turn may loose their distinctive characteristics as a local genius education institution in Indonesia. This research is an analytical study with a qualitative approach. The study found that the Islamic Boarding School and Religious Education Law aims to form individuals who understand and practice the values ​​of their religion or become religious scholars who are faithful, pious, noble, knowledgeable, independent, ta'awun, tawazun and tawasut. The Islamic boarding school law has the advantage of being able to serve a clearer direction for the boarding school. However, its’ shortcomings are it open wider possibility of government interventions that may interfere household matters of the pesantrens too deeply, even though the pesantren is indeed an independent institution.</p> <p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong></p> Maulana Arif Setyawan Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-15 2019-07-15 4 1 19 40 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-02 Diferensiasi Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB): Studi Empiris Faktor Demografis pada Dosen Jurusan Tarbiyah STAIN Gajah Putih <p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Demographic is one of the essential factors that may trigger the formation of organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). This study investigates the level of differentiation of lecturers’ OCB profile at State Islamic College Gajah Putih based on demographic factors. The response is taken from 79 &nbsp;people as research sample. The data was analysed using technical analysis of Non Parametric Statistical Analysis through the Mann Whitney Test and Kruskal Wallis to determine the level of significance of the difference based on independent samples. The results of this study showed that there is a significant differentiation of OCB from several demographic predictors such as gender, employment status, years of service with a significance value of 0.001, 0.008 and 0.034 respectively. While the factors of the degree of education, career position status, and marriage do not have a significant differensiation with the value of 0.147, 0.395 and 0.358 respectively. It can be concluded that there are several predictors of demographic factors that have different and significant levels of OCB, namely gender, employment status and years of service, while predictors of education level, career position status and marital status do not have significant differences.</em></p> Farid Fauzi Andika Hariyanto Surbakti Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-15 2019-07-15 4 1 41 60 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-03 Alokasi Zakat sebagai Alternatif Biaya Pendidikan di Masjid Darussalam Permata Biru Cinunuk, Kota Bandung <p style="text-align: justify;">This research aims at investigating the role of zakat as an alternative means to fund education. Zakat is God’s command with dual functions, as a means of worship and social responsibility. Zakat could be spent to fund activities for the purpose of following Allah’s path (fi sabilillah). Yusuf Qardawi argues that ‘fi sabilillah’ is a form of jihad in the way of Allah. Whereas jihad in this sense covers struggle for education (tarbawi). This study utilizes Tafsir Ilmy approach to understand the interpretation of zakat for educational fund, while then enrich the data through a qualitative research. The data was gathered using observation, interviews, and documentation. The study begins by examining the interpretation of the Qur’an shura At Taubah (9): 60 according to a number of muffasirs and used it as the bedrock to analyse how zakat could become an alternative source for fund in education implemented in Masjid Darussalam Permatabiru Cinunuk. This research would be beneficial to enrich scientific discussion on how to marry the concept of Islamic education management interact with Sadd adz-dzarâi, a concept in Ushul Fiqh. Using library research, this paper investigates ushul fiqh books and Islamic education management books to examine ushul fiqh’s concept and its implementation toward education management. This study found that the two concepts is compatible to certain extent as both concern on anticipating the possibility of losses in Islamic education institutions in the future.</p> Muhlil Musolin Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-15 2019-07-15 4 1 71 84 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-05 Pengaruh Kepemimpinan, Keadilan, dan Kepercayaan pada Keterlibatan Kinerja Dosen <p style="text-align: justify;">Work immersion, for lecturers, is a crucial element to the development of a university. Efforts to foster their contributions have to be continuously improved. This research aims to investigate the best way to advance lecturer’s work participation by examining causal relationship between lecturer’s work involvement with leadership variables, organizational justice and organizational trust. This research employs quantitative approach using path analysis, and was conducted in three private universities in Bogor. Total population of this research is 707 lecturers, whereas the sample taken was 130 people. The research found that: (1) there is a significant direct positive impact of leadership toward lecturer’s work involvement; (2) there is a significant positive impact of organizational justice toward lecturer’s work participation; and (3) there is a significant direct impact between trust toward organization and lecturer’s work contribution. Based on that findings, effective leadership, justice, and trust to the organization would improve lecturer’s work involvement in private university.</p> Yuyun Elizabeth Patras Rais Hidayat Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-15 2019-07-15 4 1 85 101 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-06 Analisis PIECES dalam Implementasi Kebijakan E-Learning di IAIN Kendari <p style="text-align: justify;">This study aims to analyze the implementation of e-learning policies at IAIN Kendari. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the data was collected through observation at the online page of <a href=""></a>, interviews and documentation. The results of PIECES analysis calculations in the application of e-learning are seen from several aspects, including: performance, information, economy, control and services are in the category of important with the value of 3.46%, 3.82%, 3.77%, 3.85% and 3.88% &nbsp;respectively. Regarding the aspect of efficiency, the value is 4.28% within the category Very Important. Whereas, the implementation of e-learning learning policies using Edward's theory was investigated from four aspects, namely: 1) communication that was conducted through the socialization of e-learning workshops; 2) resources including human/technician resources that were still very lacking as well as infrastructure with the addition of 80 Mbps bandwidth to five faculties, rectorates, libraries and postgraduate programs; 3) dispositions were given to the policy users, namely lecturers who were still less motivated in using e-learning, and 4) bureaucratic structure related to operational standards procedures that was designed in the form of e-learning guidebooks. The result found that e-learning implementation was in the category of important in the aspect of performance, information, economics, control and service, and in the category of very important in the aspect of efficiency. E-learning system at IAIN Kendari is acceptable for all academic civity, however they need personal motivation to implement and utilize it for classroom learning supported by speed internet access.</p> Ambar Sri Lestari Shbarur Rijal Hamka Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-16 2019-07-16 4 1 103 125 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-07 Pemasaran Jasa Pendidikan dan Implementasinya sebagai Strategi Pengembangan Pendidikan di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta <p style="text-align: justify;">This research focused on the experience of&nbsp; Muhammadiyah Junior High School I (SMP 1) in Depok Sleman Yogyakarta in improving students trust and choice to study in the institution through an education marketing strategy. How the strategy of marketing is developed and work for educational services and its implementation is highlighted in this study. Using a qualitative research &nbsp;this paper utilizes the marketing strategy theory approach to educational services. The data were collected through: (1) observation, (2) documentation, and (3) in-depth interviews with school principals, public relations staff, student affairs, parents and students. It was validated by using source and technical triangulation technique in a qualitative research. The results of the study indicated that: First, the marketing strategy of educational services in improving the educational services in SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Depok, involves: (1) internal, (2) external, and (3) interactive marketing strategies. Second, the implementation of marketing strategies in improving education services in SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Depok covers: (1) implementing market selection strategies by segmenting the market, targeting and positioning. (2) establishing the marketing mix by applying quality products from this junior high school, highlighting its geographical location, applying competitive prices, and carrying out promotional steps. Third, the supporting and inhibiting factors of the marketing strategy in the school were summarized in the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis.</p> Muhammad Iqbal Copyright (c) 2019 MANAGERIA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam 2019-07-16 2019-07-16 4 1 127 146 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-08 Karakteristik Kepemimpinan Transformasional di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) serta Relevansinya dengan Visi Pendidikan Abad 21 <p style="text-align: justify;">This paper discusses the characteristics of transformational leadership in Islamic Elementery School (MI). It focuses on how the basic concepts of this kind of leadership are relevant to the 21st century education vision, on the what are the essential&nbsp; steps of a transformational leader on investigaties the strengths and weaknesses of transformational leadership in developing the quality of human resources in managing a school. This research used a qualitative approach with the main data of a literary study. The results of this research indicate that (1) the characteristic of transformational leadership through idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intelectual stimulation, and individual consideration (4I) are relevant to the vision of 21st century education. The characteristics are built in the form of life and career skills, learning and innovation skills, information, media, and technological skills, (2) the steps for a transformational leader to face the vision of 21st century education are described&nbsp; in the concept of 4I which is combined with 4C (critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, and collaboration) towards 3 vision of education in the 21st century, and (3) the advantages of transformational leadership are in cost savings, high commitment, actualization of the potential human resources, and interpersonal communication,&nbsp; while the weaknesses are that it requires a relatively longer time, uneven empowerment, needs intense attention, and is difficult to apply to members in the number of units.</p> Muhammad Shaleh Assingkily Mesiono Mesiono Copyright (c) 2019-07-16 2019-07-16 4 1 147 168 10.14421/manageria.2019.41-09 Leadership Pesantren: Urgensi Pendidikan dalam Menyiapkan Pemimpin Bangsa Berkualitas dan Bermoral <p style="text-align: justify;">People views on the role of education in pesantren has shifted over years. Previously, people thought that pesantren education was the second class. However, the profile of pesantren alumni and their contribution in various aspects of leadership in societies has proven that pesantren education contribute to nation development. People believe that pesantren is not an alternative education institution, but the major education provider to graduate well qualified human resources with leadership skill, as well as mastering both emotional and spiritual intelligent (ESQ). Besides essential to improve human development index of a country, ESQ is a pivotal element for a leader. This is in line with the argument of this paper that pesantren education even in this globalized era is able to produce the prospective leaders rich with relevant skills and intellectuality as well as deep understanding of&nbsp; kitab kuning (yellow book) as the classical Islamic intellectual literature and tailor it with modern science and technology.
