Sunan Kalijaga: International Journal of Islamic Civilization (SK:IJIC) is a journal initiated by Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Indonesia. The Journal invites international scholars to contribute their papers on Islamic Civilization in a broad contexts.

Type of Articles:

  • Case Studies
  • Comparative Studies

Important Dates:

  • Deadline of submission: December 31th, 2017.

Specific requirements:

  1. The submitted manuscripts are original works of the authors and have not been published elsewhere.
  2. Any forms of plagiarism will not be tolerated.
  3. All data in the article has to be proven by sources and references.  
  4. Writing format should follow American Psychological Association (APA) style.
  5. Full paper should be written in Microsoft WORD format, Times New Roman, between 20-40 pages  including abstract and references.
  6. Transliteration model follows International Journal of Middle East Studies  (IJMES)

Sunan Kalijaga: International Journal of Islamic Civilization is an international refereed journal published by the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Indonesia.


SK.IJIC is aimed to promote scholarly research on Islamic Civilization within multidisciplinary approaches.


SK.IJIC covers contemporary studies on Islamic Civilization which may include the area of culture, peace and conflict resolution, language, and history. Other areas may also be considered within the frame of Islamic Civilization.   

SK.IJIC receives papers that are not published or not being considered for publication elsewhere. The papers submitted will be reviewed prior to publication.

General academic publication ethics should be followed by all parties. No plagiarism is allowed. All sources cited should be mentioned honestly and clearly.

Editorial Policy

  1. The editors have an authority to receive or reject the paper submitted to SK.IJIC.
  2. The content of paper is the responsibility of the writer.
  3. Priority will be given to case study papers and comparative research between Indonesia and other countries.
  4. The editors will treat the papers objectively and inclusively, mainly focused on the intellectual content of the papers regardless ethnic, race, religion, and gender matters.
