Abstract

Empowerment is one of the development strategy related to improving creativity. Empowerment of the disabled is a process in which disabled is given the knowledge and skills training to be more independent. The aims of this study is to describe the empowerment given to the disabled, in this case, its described on the Integrated Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (RTPD) in Pundong Subdistrict, Bantul Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. An instrument of data collection is by interview and observation supported by library data. This disabled empowerment is analyzed through Asset-Based Approach. The findings in the field indicated that the empowerment of disabled in RTPD is already good enough. Disabled who had graduated from RTPD can be independent and more confident to face their life.

Pemberdayaan merupakan salah satu strategi pembangunan untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas. Pemberdayaan difabel adalah proses di mana difabel diberikan pengetahuan dan pelatihan keterampilan untuk hidup mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pemberdayaan yang diberikan kepada difabel, dalam hal ini pada Rehabilitasi Terpadu Penyandang Disabilitas (RTPD) di Kecamatan Pundong, Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara  dan observasi yang didukung studi kepustakaan. Pemberdayaan difabel ini dianalisis melalui Asset Based Approach. Temuan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan difabel di RTPD sudah cukup baik. Difabel yang sudah lulus dari RTPD dapat mandiri dan lebih percaya diri.
