Edulab : Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan ISSN (online): 2527-7200 is a scientific periodical published by the Education Laboratory, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga. Edulab : Scientific Magazine of Education Laboratory is published twice a year in June and December. This journal is indexed by national and international indexing institutions such as Doaj, Ebsco, Dimensions, Google Scholar, Garuda, Sinta, and Moraref. The Edulab journal focuses its scope on the issues of instructional technology. We invite scientists, academics, researchers, as well as professionals, practitioners, and observers in the field of instructional technology to publish their research results in our journal.

Focus and Scope

EDULAB Journal focuses its scope on the issues of Instructional Technology. We invite scientists, scholars, researchers, as well as professionals in the field of Instructional Technology to publish their researches in our Journal. The journal publishes high quality empirical and theoretical research covering all aspects of Instructional Technology.nal encourages rigorous scholarly dialogue addressing the development, transformation, and challenges of education in Muslim societies through empirical studies and theoretical exploration.

It seeks to contribute to advancing educational thought, practice, and policy within both traditional and contemporary frameworks, with a special emphasis on progressive and inclusive Islamic education that fosters self-directed learning, reflective inquiry, and social transformation.

  1. Design: Theory and practice (laboratory) for determining learning conditions, including the design of learning systems, message design, learning strategies, and student characteristics
  2. Development: Theory and practice (laboratory) of translating design specifications in physical form. Covers a wide variety of technologies, such as printing technology, audio-video technology, computer-based technology, integrated technology, and blended/hybrid learning.
  3. Utilization: Theory and practice (laboratory) activities use processes and resources for learning. Covers media use, diffusion of innovation, implementation and institutionalization, policies, and regulations.
  4. Management: Theory and practice (laboratory) Include management through planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising.
  5. Evaluation: Theory and practice (laboratory) of enabling or not learning and learning. Covers: Psikometri, testing, and measurement.

Journal History

  • Since June 2016, Edulab Journal published the first edition and has an ISSN (online) based on SK 0005.25277200/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2016.06.
  • From Vol. 3, No. 2 (2018), Edulab has been an accredited scientific journal Sinta 5.
  • Starting from Vol. 5 No. 2 (2020), Edulab Journal collaborated with PPLPI (Association of Indonesian Educational Laboratory Administrators).
  • Starting from Vol. 6, No. 1 (2021), accepted the manuscript in English and Indonesian
  • Starting from Vol. 7, No. 1 (2022), Edulab journal has been accredited by Sinta 4.
  • Starting from Vol. 9, No. 1 (2024), Edulab Journal published 10 articles per issue.
  • Starting from Vol 9, No 2 (2024), Edulab Journal uses a new template format. Basic changes are applied in the use of columns, fonts and metadata information in the articles so that they are more informative and comfortable to read. Download new template
  • Starting from Vol. 10, No. 1 (2025), Edulab Journal has been accredited SINTA 2 in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Science and Technology Number 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, dated July 24, 2026.

Article Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers using a double anonymous peer review process. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based on the reviewers' reports and recommendations. In some instances, if additional evaluation is necessary, the editor may submit an article to a third reviewer before making a decision.
