Description
All manuscripts submitted to Adabiyyāt: Journal of Language and Literature must comply with the journal’s Author Guidelines and submission requirements. Submissions that do not meet formatting standards, fall outside the journal’s scope, or fail to meet ethical and technical requirements may be returned to authors without further review.
All manuscripts must represent original, unpublished work and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Each submission undergoes an initial editorial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned Section Editor to assess its relevance to the journal’s focus, originality, academic contribution, and overall presentation quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to the reviewer with expertise in the relevant field. The journal applies a blind peer-review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure objectivity and fairness. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity of argument, and relevance to the field.
Reviewers’ comments are treated as confidential and are only shared with the authors for revision purposes. Authors can expect an initial decision within approximately 2-6 months after submission. In cases requiring revision, authors are expected to resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe, typically 2–4 weeks depending on the extent of revisions.
The final decision on the manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial judgment. All submissions are handled in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and confidentiality standards.
Types of Editorial Decisions
Post-Acceptance Process (Galley Proof)
After acceptance, the manuscript undergoes copyediting and layout formatting. Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author for final review. Authors are responsible for checking typographical and formatting errors only; substantial changes are not permitted at this stage. Proofs should be returned promptly (within 2–3 days) to avoid publication delays.
The editorial team reserves the right to make final adjustments to ensure consistency and quality of publication. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the content in the final published version.
Confidentiality and Ethical Considerations
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. The peer review process is conducted in accordance with international publication ethics standards, ensuring integrity, transparency, and academic rigor.
