Author Guidelines

The Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra receives manuscripts under the following conditions:

  1. The manuscript has never been published nor is it before another journal for consideration. 
  2. Similiarty index is maximum 20% prooved by Turnitin similarity detection, which excludes quotes and bibliography, and 3% similarity.
  3. Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra only addresses issues relevant to Arabic, English, or Indonesian  language (non-local languanges) and literary studies with linguistic, philological, literary (historical, critical, theoretical), or translational domains. Education is not our field.
  4. Manuscripts are sent as soft files in Microsoft Word (doc. format) via the Online Submission page Online Submission.
  5. Manuscripts are written in Indonesian or English or Arabic according to academic writing standards. The manuscript is written in Times New Roman, font size 11, and exactly 15 space on B5 sized paper, between 4,500 dd. 7,000 words. These sizes include footnotes, bibliography, images, figures, and tables. See Manuscript Template Adabiyyat.
  6. The Arabic-Latin transliteration, which is used in the Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra, is guided by the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 158/1987 and 0543b/U/1987. Transliteration is only used for writing terms, names, titles, and bibliography.
  7. Direct quotes in Arabic using Traditional Arabic fonts (size 14) and with harakat. Quotes in Indonesian or English use Times New Roman (font size 9). Quotes in Arabic or English must be accompanied by translations.
  8. The curriculum vitae of the author is attached at the end of the text.
  9. Writing Format:

a. Title (7 to 12 words),
b. Author's name (without the academic degree) with affiliation and email address. The authors are maximum three names.
c. Abstract (150 to 200 words) which includes the formulation of the problem, method, importance of research, and results,
d. Keywords (3 to 5 words/phrases),

     10. Referenced cited authors uses the body note system of the Chicago Manual of Style (author-date) with the order:  Author's Last Name, Author's First Name, Publish Year, and Page, for example: (Lyons 2000, 124).

    11. It is recommended to use the Zotero reference management tool.
