Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance adolescents’ understanding and ability to build self-boundaries as a preventive effort against risky social behavior. The program was implemented through classical guidance sessions at Darul Asnaf, Majelis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, involving adolescents as the primary participants. The method employed was an interactive seminar approach combined with discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The materials covered self-boundaries, types of personal boundaries, healthy relationships, and awareness of love and the risks of promiscuity. The results indicate that classical guidance effectively improved participants’ understanding of the importance of self-boundaries and encouraged adolescents to express their needs and refuse inappropriate behaviors. In addition, participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the sessions, as reflected in their active participation in discussions and their ability to respond to questions related to the material presented. This program contributes to strengthening adolescents’ character, particularly in self-control and healthy decision-making in social interactions. Therefore, classical guidance can serve as an effective preventive strategy to reduce risky behaviors and support the development of responsible and well-adjusted adolescents.
