About the Journal

Altruism: The Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement is a multidisciplinary open-access journal published by Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. It provides a scholarly platform for disseminating transformative ideas, applied research findings, and community empowerment practices across Indonesia. 

The journal focuses on community-service initiatives conducted through participatory collaboration among academics, practitioners, and community partners. AIJCE welcomes manuscripts that highlight innovative service models, integration of local wisdom, and evidence-informed interventions that strengthen community resilience and self-reliance.

Serving as a bridge between academic inquiry and social practice, AIJCE positions each publication as both a record of professional engagement and a contribution to community transformation. The journal values ethical commitment, methodological rigor, and long-term social impact.

AIJCE publishes two issues per year. Authors are required to adhere to all submission and formatting guidelines; manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards will be returned for revision prior to review.

Before submission

Authors must ensure their manuscript is prepared using the official AIJCE manuscript template and fully complies with the Author Guidelines . Manuscripts must be thoroughly proofread and written in clear academic English. Submissions that do not meet formatting or language standards will be returned prior to peer review.
