Marriage is an institution that transforms something that is religiously prohibited into permissible, provided that the legal requirements of marriage have been fulfilled. However, a phenomenon occurring in Indonesia is the high rate of early marriage. This is influenced by the perception among some members of society that marrying off their children at an early age eliminates the need to continue providing for them, particularly in the case of daughters. This issue reflects concerns regarding community readiness for marriage. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors underlying early marriage and to provide understanding to the community regarding the psychological impacts resulting from marriage. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research method. The results indicate that, in general, early marriage leads to various problems and has psychological impacts on individuals. One effort to reduce this phenomenon is through premarital guidance, which is intended to help individuals understand their roles as prospective husbands and wives in managing and developing household life.References
