Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

GENERAL INFORMATION

Welfare: Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial is a journal intended as a publication medium for scientific papers related to the field of social welfare. The focus of the journal is to address Persons with Social Welfare Problems from a Social Work perspective. The scope of the journal includes the handling of social work using micro, mezzo, and macro approaches.

Welfare: Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial is managed by the Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This journal is published twice a year.

MANUSCRIPT

The criteria for manuscript submission are as follows:

  1. Manuscripts submitted to Welfare should include research results, both field research and literature studies, as well as reflective analysis articles in line with the journal's focus.
  2. Manuscripts can be written in either Indonesian or English. The structure for research manuscripts includes the title, author’s name along with email, abstract with keywords, introduction, research methods, discussion or analysis, conclusion, and references. This structure should follow the article template provided.
  3. Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word on A4 paper, ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 words, using Times New Roman font size 12 pts.
  4. The title of the article in Indonesian should not exceed 14 words, while the English title should not exceed 12 words. The title should be centered and capitalized, using a 14-point font size.
  5. The author's name should be listed without academic titles, accompanied by the affiliated institution, and placed under the article title. If the manuscript is written by a team, the editor will correspond only with the primary author or the author listed first. The primary author must include a correspondence address or email.
  6. Abstracts and keywords must be written in both Indonesian and English. Each abstract should be 100-150 words, with 3-5 keywords.
  7. Tables and figures should be titled, single-spaced, numbered, and sourced clearly. If photos or images are included, they should preferably be in black and white format.
  8. The references list should include only sources cited in the manuscript, and all cited sources must be listed in the references. At least 80% of the references should come from literature published in the last 10 years. References should primarily be research articles in journals or research reports (including theses, dissertations, books, and other relevant publications). It is recommended to use reference management software (such as Mendeley or Zotero) when writing the references. Articles published in the journal are recommended to be used as references.
  9. All manuscripts are anonymously reviewed by peer reviewers (reviewers) appointed by the editors according to their expertise. Authors will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on recommendations/suggestions from the reviewers or editors. Authors will be informed of the acceptance or rejection of their manuscript via email.
  10. Editors have the right to modify and correct the spelling, writing style, and grammar of manuscripts accepted for publication.
  11. Authors are fully responsible for obtaining permissions for quotations or using computer software for manuscript preparation or any other issues related to intellectual property rights, including any legal consequences that may arise.
  12. Manuscripts not accepted for publication will not be returned, except at the request of the author.
