Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked'.
  • Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet).
  • Journal Policies detailed have been reviewed.

  • Manuscripts must be typed with a 1 spaced, on one side of A4 paper only. The text should be in Times New Roman font size 11. The text and references should be checked for errors before submission. All style, syntax and spelling is the responsibility of the author (outlined in the Author Guidelines (general paper format)).

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

  • The competing interests (CI) statement form is provided in the Submission Step 3 (Enter Metadata). All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Examples of potential competing interests include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. Authors should complete the declaration of interest statement during the submission process under Additional Questionnaire. This statement will be published within the article if accepted.

Author Guidelines

Author can refer to the latest published articles of Bulletin of Islamic Economics to follow its format. Manuscripts must be typed with a single spacing throughout. In general, the following is the paper format for Bulletin of Islamic Economics:

Abstract

The abstract should stand alone, means that no citation in abstract. The abstract should concisely inform the reader of the manuscript’s purpose, its methods, its findings, and its contribution. The abstract should be relatively nontechnical, yet clear enough for an informed reader to understand the manuscript’s contribution. An abstract consist of no more than 250 words.

Keywords consist of no more than 8 words

Body Text

Manuscripts must be typed with a single spacing throughout.

Tables

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

Title of the Table : Above the Table, alignment: center.

Font for the Title: Times New Roman, size 11, text bold.

Any word or words to be abbreviated should be written in full when first mentioned followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

Figures

Figures can be placed on separate page(s) at the end. Number figures consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any figure notes below the figure body. Please use the following figure formats:

  • EPS (or PDF): Vector drawings, embed all used fonts.
  • TIFF (or JPEG): Color or grayscale photographs (halftones), keep to a minimum of 300 dpi.
  • TIFF (or JPEG): Bitmapped (pure black & white pixels) line drawings, keep to a minimum of 1000 dpi.
  • TIFF (or JPEG): Combinations bitmapped line/half-tone (color or grayscale), keep to a minimum of 500 dpi.

References

Each manuscript must include a reference list containing only the quoted work and using the Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero tool. Each entry should contain all the data needed for unambiguous identification. With the author-date system, use following format recommended by American Psychological Association style).

When quoted in the text style is:

... Smith (1995) ... or (Brown & Jones, 2002) or ... Smith et al. (2004a).

In order to allow us to create links to abstracting and indexing services, please ensure that data provided in the references are correct. Please note that incorrect surnames, journal/book titles, publication year and pagination may prevent link creation. When copying references, please be careful as they may already contain errors. Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.
