Abstract

The integration of regular students and students with special needs (ABK) in inclusive schools poses challenges, particularly at the junior high school level. These challenges including social isolation and limited acceptance of ABK by their regular peers, indicating suboptimal prosocial behavior. Empathy and religiosity are two internal factors hypothesized to influence prosocial behavior. This study examines the role of empathy and religiosity in prosocial behavior among 127 junior high school students in inclusive schools in Badung. Data were collected using the Prosocial Behavior Scale, Interpersonal Reactivity Index (Indonesian version), and Religiosity Scale. Multiple regression analysis showed R = 0.746, R² = 0.556, and p < 0.000, indicating that empathy and religiosity together account for 55.6% of the variance in prosocial behavior. These findings suggest that enhancing empathy and religiosity may be the key to improving prosocial behavior in inclusive education.
