Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 10.5-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Versi Bahasa Indonesia [PDF]

Jurnal Bakti Saintek: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bidang Sains dan Teknologi is an open access and peer-reviewed journal, contains original research about the results of community service activities. The community service activities include the implementation of research results, the application of appropriate technology, the dissemination of innovations, conceptual ideas, study and application of theory, and the development of community empowerment models; in the fields of science and technology and based on Islamic values. JBS is published by the Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, published twice a year; February and August. JBS is an open access and peer-reviewed journal. Published in printed and online versions through Open Journal Systems platform, which was developed by the PKP (Public Knowledge Project).

General Instructions

The submission is an original work, free from any form of plagiarism (text, data, and figures); The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal; The submission has been approved by all co-authors and relevant authorities; The manuscript has been (to the best of the authors’ abilities) written in good English and or Indonesia, and is free of grammatical errors

Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted to JBS by Online Submission at E-Journal portal address: ejournal.uin-suka.ac.id/saintek/jbs, where author register as Author and/or offered as Reviewer by online. If authors have any problems on the online submission, please contact Editorial Office (Support).

Manuscript structure

Title. Title of manusscript should be written Bahasa Indonesia and English in compact, clear, and informative sentence preferably not more than 15 words (in Title Case).

Author(s). Name of author(s) should be completely written. Authors for correspondence include phone numbers and email address.

Aﬃliaon. Name and institution address should be also completely written. Provide the full postal address of each author’s affiliation, including the street name and number, city, ZIP code, and country.

Abstract Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, in one paragraph. Should consist of a single paragraph of no more than 250 words. Provide the background and objective of the paper, its principal results, and its conclusions. Avoid using abbreviations and citations.

Keywords. Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, 3 - 7 words, arranged alphabetically and separated using semicolons (;).

Introduction. Should briefly explain the background of the research, provide a short review of the literature, state the originality of the research, and state the research objectives at the end of the section.

Methodology. Contains location and participants of research, materials and tools, methods of implementing, data collection, data processing and analysis.

Result and Discussion. Contains the outcome and an interpretation of the results. Explain the implementation of research, constraints faced, impacts, and sustainability efforts of the research..

Conclusions. Contains the meaning of research results and answers to research objectives and recommendations for program sustainability.

Acknowledgments (if needed). Can be used to mention anyone/all parties who contributed to the research, as well as any funding.

References. Written in “name and year” system; and is arranged from oldest to newest and from A to Z. The sentence sourced from many authors, should be structured based on the year of recently. In citing an article written by two authors, both of them should be mentioned, however, for three and more authors only the family (last) name of the first author is mentioned followed by et al. for example: Saharjo and Nurhayati (2006) or (Boonkerd 2003a, b, c; Sugiyarto 2004; El-Bana and Nijs 2005; Balagadde et al. 2008; Webb et al. 2008). Extent citation as shown with word “cit” should be avoided. And suggested to refer an original reference. Format used is APA (American Psychological Association) style.

Formatting Details

Manuscripts are written using the Microsoft Word®. Paper size: A4 (21.0 x 29.7 cm), Margin: 2.5 cm (top, bottom) 1.7 cm (left, right), Font type: Lato (10.5 pt, 1 space); Language: Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Tables and Figures. Each Table and Figure must be numbered (for example, Figure 1; Table 1). Each table and figure must have a title/name. Title of a Figure is written down below the Figure, while title of a Table is written in the above the Table.
