Perkembangan gaya hidup yang mengikuti trend budaya-budaya barat menyebabkan kecemasan akan memudarnya nilai-nilai etis dan moral. Karena hal tersebut dapat menyebabkan terjadinya pergaulan bebas, penggunaan obat-obatan terlarang, bahkan tawuran di kalangan anak usia sekolah. Fenomena itu yang mendorong pemerintah untuk merumuskan kebijakan nasional pembangunan karakter bangsa. Islam adalah agama yang memiliki sejarah panjang dalam mengembangkan sikap, watak dan karakter manusia menuju derajat tertinggi kemuliaan melalui pendidikan akhlak. Nabi Muhammad SAW, sebagai utusan Allah SWT dalam rangka memperbaiki akhlak manusia. Dalam keseluruhan ajaran agama Islam, akhlak menempati kedudukan yang istimewa dan sangat penting. Kegiatan PPMT ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan karakter Islami peserta didik di MI Muhammadiyah Butuh melalui budaya sekolah Islami.
[The development of lifestyle that follows the trend of Western cultures causes anxiety to diminish ethical and moral values. Because it can cause free association, the use of illegal drugs, even a brawl among school-age children. That phenomenon encourages the Government to formulate national policy on the nation's character development. Islam is a religion that has a long history of developing attitudes, disposition and human character towards the highest degree of glory through moral education. Prophet Muhammad SAW, as the messenger of Allah SWT in order to improve human morality. In the overall teachings of Islam, morality occupies a privileged position and is very important. PPMT activity aims to improve the Islamic character of students at MI Muhammadiyah need through Islamic school culture.]
