Abstract

The problem of Hadith and Science continues to be an interesting discourse to discuss, because the hadith that was born 14 centuries ago is able to address issues that in various scientific sciences have not yet been resolved. We can take the example that there are many traditions that discuss the issue of 'the future' in this case such as prediction, the past (history), to issues of Science and Technology, such as the treasury of the integration of religious knowledge and science, to link the discussion of flies, with QS. al-Baqarah: 26, and verse 73 of surah al-Hajj, there it is said that "And if the fly took something from them, they could not take it back from the fly". And in a hadith from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "If a fly falls on the vessel of one of you, dip it because on one wing there is a disease and on the other wing there is an antidote". This study intends to explore empirical facts about the Prophet's hadith by conducting laboratory experiments through Salmonella thypi growth inhibition tests on invitro media inoculated with fly wings (Musca domestica). The results showed that there was growth inhibition by the inoculation of the fly's left or right wing. It cannot be determined that the right or left wing inhibits the growth of S.thypi.
