About the Journal

Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics (SKJP) is peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta-Indonesia.

Focus and Scope

SKJP publishes original research articles on all the major, also the branches of physics disciplines and related interdisciplinary areas, be it fundamental or applied. The journal will cover theoretical, computational as well as experimental research.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.

Author Charges

Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics (SKJP) does not charge APCs, submission charges, or another fee. All processes of article publication are free of charge.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics (SKJP) is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers. SKJP employs a double-blind peer review, in which both author(s) and reviewers identities are concealed from each other. Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.

Manuscript Processing Time

Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics (SKJP)'s manuscript processing time ranges from 9 to 12 weeks.

Plagiarism Screening

All work in the manuscript should be free of any plagiarism, falsification, fabrications, or omission of significant material. Authors are expected to explicitly cite others' work and ideas, even if the work or ideas are not quoted verbatim or paraphrased. This standard applies whether the previous work is published, unpublished, or electronically available. Failure to properly cite the work of others may constitute plagiarism. Manuscripts submitted to Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics will be automatically screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. Papers found to contain a significant amount of plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) will be automatically rejected.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

Submissions Guidelines

Registering to Sunan Kalijaga Journal of Physics

To register with the journal, you need to hit the register navigation bar or link Register and fill the required information including create or Connect your ORCID ID.

Submitting an article

Login with your account, and you will be taken to your dashboard. Start a new submission by clicking the New Submission button, and follow the step below:

  • Step 1. Starting New Submission.
    You will provide with preliminary information about your submission. You need to mark the submission checklist and place the cover letter in the comment box.
  • Step 2. Uploading the Submission.
    You need to upload your submission files in this window. You can add your files by browse it with the “add file” button, or simply “drag and drop” the file to the window.
  • Step 3. Enter Metadata.
    You need to enter more information about your submission on this step. you should fill the textbox with your abstract and keywords. At the bottom of the page, you can add another contributor of your paper.
  • Step 4. Confirmation.
    At this step you have opportunity to check or pause your submission. Once you assured with your submission, you can click the finish submission button.
  • Step 5. Next Steps.
    The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.


This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
