Author Guidelines

Staatsrecht: Jurnal Hukum Kenegaraan dan Politik Islam is a scientific journal published twice a year by the Constitutional Law Study Program, Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The scientific journal "Staatsrecht: Jurnal Hukum Kenegaraan dan Politik Islam" invites all authors who have a concentration in the fields of state law and Islamic politics. Or those who have a focus on studies on constitutional law and siyasah. Issues are published twice a year in June and December. However, article submission and selection is open at any time.

Article Topic and Theme
1. The type of article must be the result of research, either as theoretical/conceptual research and/or research reports (field, archive, or application) [not just the author's opinion]
2. The article is the original work of the author (not plagiarism). If the article submission is a republishing of a thesis, dissertation, dissertation, or research report, the author must inform the republishing in advance of acknowledgment.
3. The theme or topic of the study of the article is related to the religious sciences, human rights and or religious themes in general.
4. The article has never been published and is not being submitted to other journals or media.

Article Language
1. Article should be written in the excellent-quality language, English or Bahasa Indonesia.
2. Article in English language is written by Indonesian authors (if not accustomed to writing scientific research in English), must be translated by Trusted Language Institute or have been proofread (official approved letter) from the Language Institute.
3. Indonesian authors who are never experienced writing scientific research or papers in English are encouraged to submit articles in Bahasa Indonesia.
4. Article in Bahasa Indonesia must be written with following The Indonesian Spelling System (Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia), or to Indonesian Spelling System General Guidelines (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia) in good quality.

Writing Structure
1. The structure of writing in Asy-Syir’ah consists of: (1) Article Title; (2) Author Name; (3) Author Institutions; (4) Email Address; (5) Abstract; (6) Introduction; (7) Results/Discussion; (8) Conclusion; (9) References
2. Manuscripts are written between 5.000-8.000 words in length.

Article Title
a. Article title must be written short, concise, and provides an overview of the entire content.
b. Article title is not more than 15 words.
c. Article title is written in lowercase, except at the beginning of each word.
Author name
a. Author name should add after the article title and written without any academic’s title.
b. Author name can be more than one writer: Author 1, Author 2 Author 3, (No more than 5 Authors)
Institutions/Affiliation
a. Affiliation or Institution name adds after and below authors’ name.
b. The name of the institution is written in full (no abbreviations). For example: Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, not UIN SUKA.
Email address
a. The author’s email address is written under/after the author’s institution name.
b. The email address is listed based on the first author name.
c. The email address is written in italic.
Abstract
a. Abstract should be written short and clear: between 150-200 words, typed in font 10.
b. Abstract can be written in two languages: English and Bahasa Indonesia: Abstract must be written between 150-200 words.
c. Indentation left, and right parts of the abstract are written into 12 taps.
d. Abstract should at least contain: (1) Primary research issues, (2) Theories and methods in research, and (3) Research findings.
e. Abstract is followed by several keywords (between 3-5), and a semicolon (;) separates each keyword, except for the last keyword.

Introduction
The introduction article must contain the following:
a. Research Background: It should consist of problems/issues, namely the gap between what should be (the ideal) and what is actually (actual field circumstance), which is promising and essential to study and research. These problems can depart from theoretical questions or social issues.
b. Research question. The introduction should include/write the main research problem clearly and unequivocally and explained narratively, without including the subheading of the Problem Formulation.
c. Library research or literature review referred to is literature studies related to the research’s topic. It is intended to review previous studies and highlight research novelty, theoretical position, and research value among previous existing findings.
d. Theories and research methods. The introduction should contain the theory and methods used to analyze the theme/topic during the research investigation. These theories and methods must be based on or refer to the problem studied in the article and the study's purpose. Theories and study methods are not used as separate sub-chapters but included in the introduction section.
e. Arguments concerning the importance of research/articles are written along with the scientific contribution from the research finding.

Results and Discussion
a. Research results contain discussions and findings related to the topics discussed, without re-writing ‘Discussion,’ but immediately writing sub-heading ‘points’ after heading ‘Results and Discussion.’
b. Results / Substances can be created or organized into several sub-heading or sub-section as the author needed.
c. Each sub-section is directly written with its sub-titles (without starting with the letters A. B. C. D and so on).
d. Between one sub-discussion and another, it must show a logical sequence, namely logical thinking, and coherent writing.
e. The final results or discussion must answer the primary problem or research issues as formulated in the introduction.

Conclusion
a. Conclusion is part of concluding all research questions, findings, and final answers regarding the research questions.
b. Conclusion must be written concisely and clearly.
c. The writing length in the conclusion section is between 2-3 paragraphs.

Reference Management
a. Articles must have at least 35 references, either in journal articles, books, or other related scientific works—[Preferred sources from accredited international and national reputable journals, and it should be published within the last five (5) years].
b. Reference management, Footnote, and Bibliography are recommended using Zotero or Mendeley.
