Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia is a peer-reviewed journal. This journal follows guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct.
This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the peer reviewer, and the publisher (Fakultas Syari’ah dan Hukum UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta).
IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia is dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors, and retractions. The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.
IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia adapts COPE guidelines to meet high-quality standards of ethics for publishers, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an essential issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly to improve the quality of research worldwide. In this section, we explain the standards for editors, authors, and reviewers. The publisher has no right to interfere with the integrity of the content and only supports publication in a timely manner.
For Editors
Based on the review report of the editorial review board, the editor can accept, reject, or request modifications to the manuscript.
Editors should be responsible for every article published in IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia.
Editors may communicate with other editors or reviewers in making the final decision.
An editor must evaluate the manuscript objectively, judging each on its quality without considering nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the authors. Editors should decline assignments when there is a potential conflict of interest.
Editors must ensure that the document sent to the reviewer does not contain the author’s information, and vice versa.
Editors’ decisions should be informed to authors accompanied by reviewers’ comments unless they contain offensive or libelous remarks.
Editors should respect well-reasoned requests from authors that certain individuals not review their submission, if practicable.
Editors and all staff should guarantee the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
Editors will be guided by COPE flowcharts if there is suspected misconduct or disputed authorship.
For Reviewers
Reviewers must comment on ethical questions and possible research and publication misconduct.
Reviewers must perform the review in a timely manner and notify the editor if unable to complete the work.
Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript.
Reviewers should not accept to review manuscripts where there is a potential conflict of interest with any of the authors.
For Authors
Authors affirm that the material has not been previously published and that they have not transferred any rights elsewhere.
Authors must ensure the originality of the work and properly cite others’ work in accordance with the journal’s reference format.%%
Authors must not engage in plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
Authors should follow the authorship criteria described in the Instruction for Authors section of IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia.
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. They should not publish redundant manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal.
Authorship should be limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. Others who made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. All authors must have seen and agreed to the submitted version of the manuscript.
Authors must ensure that no personal information is included that could identify a patient or subject in any form of description, photograph, or pedigree.
Authors must provide the editor with data and details if there are suspicions of data falsification or fabrication.
If at any point an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their submitted manuscript, it must be reported to the editor immediately.
Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest, including financial support, consultancy, or intellectual property, using the IN RIGHT: Jurnal Agama dan Hak Asasi Manusia disclosure form.
