Aims and Scope
Lex-Sunan Kalijaga focuses on the study of Islamic law across its historical and intellectual spectrum, encompassing classical (fiqh and ushul fiqh), modern, and contemporary developments, as well as their engagement with broader legal theories and systems. The journal promotes interdisciplinary approaches that connect Islamic legal thought with jurisprudence, legal philosophy, and socio-legal studies.
The scope of the journal includes Islamic family law, comparative law, legal pluralism, human rights, gender, legal reform, and contemporary legal issues in Muslim societies. Special emphasis is given to critical, contextual, and integrative perspectives that examine the transformation and continuity of Islamic law within changing social, cultural, and legal contexts.
