Abstract
Humans as diverse creatures are symbols that imply that every Muslim's reception of the text of the Qur’an and the hadith does not necessarily have to be the same at all times and places. This paper aims to reveal one of the receptions about the tradition of reading the Koran that developed in Indonesian society, namely the study of Al-Kahf in the Al-Kahf Majlis Kuwarisan Panjer Kebumen. Some forms of reception discussed in this paper will conical into two forms, namely exegesis and functional reception. In general there are several traditions that are popular in the community, including yasinan, tahlilan, kendurian, and so forth. While the Al-Kahfi letter itself, despite having authentic hadith authority, turned out to be one of the less popular in the community, and usually this tradition only has the scope of Islamic boarding schools. The reception of the tradition of reciting the Al-Kahfi letter in the midst of open society provides another interesting perspective because it is still something unique and minority.

Abstrak
Manusia sebagai makhluk yang beragam merupakan simbol yang mengisyaratkan bahwa resepsi setiap muslim terhadap teks Al-Quran dan hadis tidak mesti akan selalu sama di setiap waktu dan tempat. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan salah satu resepsi tentang tradisi pembacaan surat Al-Qur’an yang berkembang di tengah masyarakat Indonesia, yakni kajian surat Al-Kahfi di Majlis Al-Kahfi Kuwarisan Panjer Kebumen. Beberapa bentuk resepsi yang didiskusikan dalam tulisan ini akan mengerucut ke dalam dua bentuk, yaitu resepsi eksegesis dan fungsional. Secara umum ada beberapa tradisi yang populer di masyarakat, diantaranya yasinan, tahlilan, kendurian, dan lain sebagainya. Sedangkan surat Al-Kahfi sendiri, walaupun memiliki otoritas hadis yang shahih, ternyata merupakan salah satu yang kurang populer di masyarakat, dan biasanya tradisi ini hanya ada lingkup pondok pesantren. Resepsi tradisi pembacaan surat Al-Kahfi di tengah masyarakat lepas memberikan sudut pandang lain yang menarik karena memang masih menjadi sesuatu yang unik dan minoritas.
