Focus and Scope

Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra invites scholars, researchers, and students to contribute their studies and research in the fields of language, literature, translation, and philology (Arabic, English, and Bahasa Indonesia). Education is not our field.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra is independently reviewed by at least one reviewer in the form of "double-blind review". The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation.

Publication Frequency

Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra is published twice a year: June and December

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Originality and Plagiarism Screening

The manuscript submitted to Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra authenticly belongs to the author(s) and does not contain plagiarism. The text should offer something new in the related study.

The editors of Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making their decisions.

Article Publication Charge (APC)

This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Submission: 0,00 (IDR)
Article Processing Charge (APC): 2.000.000 (IDR)

Should your paper be accepted for publication, you will be required to remit an Article Processing Charge amounting to IDR 2.000.000, to contribute to review and operational costs (valid for submission after May 1, 2025 onward).

Please keep in mind that this journal does not provide any fast-track service to speed up the editorial process for faster publication for a particular fee other than the APC.

Journal History

In its first publications from 2002 to 2006, this journal’s title was Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab. It was published by the Arabic Language and Literature Department. In 2007, to expand its area of study, the title of this journal changed to Adabiyyat: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra. Since then the journal has been published by the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, State’s Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. Adabiyyāt: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra is published twice a year with scope of language, literature and translation studies (Arabic, English, and Indonesian). Education is not our field.
