The publication of a scholarly article in Jurnal Fihris, which employs a rigorous peer-review process, plays a vital role in developing a coherent, credible, and reputable body of knowledge. Peer-reviewed articles validate scientific inquiry and contribute to the academic integrity of authors and their supporting institutions. Consequently, all parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher—must adhere to ethical standards to ensure integrity in scholarly communication.

Editorial Duties

Editorial Decisions

The editor is responsible for selecting submitted manuscripts that meet the journal’s academic standards. Decisions must consider the manuscript’s relevance, validity, scholarly significance, and compliance with existing legal requirements, including plagiarism, defamation, and copyright laws. Editors may seek advice from other editors or qualified reviewers when necessary.

Fair Evaluation

Manuscripts are evaluated solely based on their intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, or political views.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and may not disclose any information except to authorized individuals involved in the editorial process.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research without written consent from the authors.

Reviewer Duties

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in evaluating manuscripts and provides constructive feedback to improve the quality of the work.

Promptness

Reviewers unable to conduct a timely review or feel unqualified to assess a manuscript should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shown or discussed with others without the editor’s authorization.

Objectivity

Reviews must be objective and supported with clear, reasoned arguments. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant work not cited by the authors and report any similarity or overlap between the manuscript and other published works.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts if they have competing, collaborative, or personal relationships with any of the authors or affiliated institutions.

Author Duties

Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate accounts of their work and provide sufficient detail to allow others to replicate the research. Fraudulent or deliberately inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be requested to provide raw data for editorial evaluation and must retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted work is original. If they use ideas or words from other sources, proper citation and acknowledgment are required.

Multiple or Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish redundant research.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must properly credit the work of others and cite publications that have influenced their research.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship should reflect individuals who have made substantial contributions to the study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Research Ethics (Human/Animal Subjects)

Authors must clearly indicate any potential hazards and confirm that studies involving human or animal subjects comply with ethical standards.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence interpretations of their work.

Errors in Published Works

If authors discover a significant error in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the article.
