Reviewer Guidelines

Thaqafiyyat: Jurnal Bahasa, Peradaban, dan Informasi Islam relies on the expertise of peer reviewers to maintain the quality, integrity, and academic rigor of its publications. Reviewers play an essential role in evaluating manuscripts and providing constructive feedback to help authors improve their work. The following guidelines are intended to assist reviewers in performing their duties ethically and effectively.

1. Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or disclose any part of the manuscript with others without permission from the editor.

2. Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews should be conducted objectively and fairly. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments, focusing on the scholarly quality and contribution of the manuscript.

3. Relevance and Contribution

Reviewers should assess whether the manuscript contributes significantly to the fields of Islamic language, civilization, or information science. Manuscripts should present original findings, critical insights, or theoretical developments that advance academic understanding.

4. Structure and Clarity

Reviewers should evaluate whether the manuscript is well-organized, clearly written, and adheres to the journal’s formatting and citation style. Attention should be given to the clarity of arguments, the logic of the discussion, and the accuracy of references.

5. Ethical Considerations

If a reviewer suspects plagiarism, data fabrication, or any other form of academic misconduct, they must inform the editor immediately. Reviewers should also declare any potential conflicts of interest (e.g., personal, professional, or financial relationships with the author or institution).

6. Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to complete their review within the time frame specified by the editorial team. If unable to meet the deadline, the reviewer should promptly inform the editor to allow reassignment of the manuscript.

7. Recommendations

Reviewers should provide a clear recommendation regarding the manuscript, choosing one of the following options:

a. Accept as is

b. Accept with minor revisions

c. Accept with major revisions

d. Reject

8. Constructive Feedback

Comments should be specific, polite, and aimed at helping the author improve the manuscript. Reviewers are encouraged to highlight both strengths and weaknesses and suggest ways to enhance clarity, coherence, and scholarly value.

Through adherence to these guidelines, reviewers contribute to the advancement of high-quality scholarly communication and uphold the ethical standards of  Thaqafiyyat: Jurnal Bahasa, Peradaban, dan Informasi Islam.
