Keywords:
Crisis Management, Grief, HospitalAbstract
This article discusses crisis management in handling bereaved families at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, specifically focusing on the emotional and social support provided by the hospital after the death of a patient. Using functional structural theory, the study analyzes the roles of the hospital, medical staff, and spiritual counseling services in maintaining the emotional balance of the family. Observations of three families show that effective crisis management involves empathetic communication, timely support, and adequate access for the family. Delays in providing support can worsen the family's emotional reactions. The hospital must have a structured crisis management system to effectively support bereaved families through their grief.
