Plagiarisme Policy
Jurnal Kajian Islam Interdisipliner (JKII) upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in all its forms. The journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that every published work represents the original contribution of its author(s).
Plagiarism refers to the appropriation or close imitation of another author’s language, ideas, or findings and presenting them as one’s own original work. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original, unpublished elsewhere, and not under review by any other journal. Any verbatim text, data, or figures taken from external sources must be properly acknowledged through:
- Clear quotation marks or block indentation,
- Accurate citation of the original source, and
- Permission from the copyright holder when required.
The use of material beyond what constitutes fair use—whether textual or graphical—requires explicit acknowledgment and permission. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that all sources, including previous works of their own, are correctly cited to avoid self-plagiarism.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin similarity detection software before entering the peer review process. The similarity index helps the editorial team determine whether a submission adheres to the journal’s originality standards.
Editorial Actions Based on Similarity Index
- Above 40% – The manuscript will be rejected outright due to excessive similarity and failure to demonstrate sufficient originality. No resubmission is permitted.
- Between 20% and 40% – The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision, requiring proper citation, paraphrasing, or removal of duplicated content.
- Below 20% – The manuscript may be accepted for further review, though minor citation corrections may still be required.
In cases requiring revision, authors must thoroughly address all identified issues, ensure proper citation practices, and paraphrase appropriately. Resubmission must include an updated Turnitin report indicating a similarity score of below 20%.
