Author Guidelines

A. General Provisions

1. Journal INTACT accepts manuscripts that meet the following criteria:

• Original and not previously published in any form.
• Not under review by another journal.
• Free from plagiarism (maximum similarity index of 20%).
• Aligned with the integrative–interconnected–transformative paradigm.

2. Language:

•   All manuscripts must be written in clear and academically appropriate English.

B. Types of Articles

Journal INTACT accepts two categories of articles:

1. Empirical Research Articles (6,000–8,000 words)

   Based on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research data.

2. Applied Research (3,000–5,000 words)

   Focused on the implementation of models, interventions, policies, or applied innovations with clearly articulated transformative impact.

C. Structure of Research Articles

Manuscripts must be organized according to the following structure:

The “Transformative Contribution” section must explicitly explain the concrete impact of the research on educational systems, public policy, knowledge integration models, or social transformation.

D. Citation Standards

• APA 7th Edition citation style must be used.
• A minimum of 25 scholarly references is required.
• At least 70% of references must be from the last 10 years.
• DOI must be included whenever available.

ABSTRACT

Write the abstract in English and the maximum English 250 words. In this section are described at least about (1) background, (2) objectives, (3) methods, (4) main findings, and (5) transformative contribution. This document is a guide for writers to write papers that are ready to be published in journals. The authors must follow the instructions given in this guide. You can use this document both as a writing hint and as a template where you can type your own text (Arial, 11 pt).

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should present the background of the research by explaining why the topic is important and what it contributes to the body of knowledge. It should identify the research gap by highlighting the limitations, unanswered issues, or areas that remain underexplored in previous studies. The introduction should also establish the theoretical positioning of the study by providing relevant definitions, concepts, and theoretical perspectives that frame the research. Finally, it should clearly state the research questions and briefly explain the aims and focus of the study. The introduction may also provide a brief overview of the structure of the paper to guide readers through the discussion. (Arial, 11 pt).

LITERATURE REVIEW

The Literature Review should provide a critical and analytical synthesis of relevant theories, concepts, and previous studies related to the research topic. It should establish the conceptual and theoretical foundation of the study, critically examine relevant findings, and identify areas of agreement, disagreement, contradiction, or limitation in the existing literature. The review should clearly demonstrate the research gap and explain how the present study extends, refines, challenges, or contributes to previous scholarship. Rather than merely listing or summarizing previous studies, authors should synthesize the literature thematically to establish the theoretical and conceptual position of the present study. METHOD

This section describes how the research was conducted. The primary components of this section include: (1) research design and approach; (2) participants, population and sample, or research subjects and informants, as applicable; (3) research instruments and instrument development; (4) research procedures, including data collection techniques and the stages of the research; (5) data analysis techniques; and (6) ethical approval and ethical considerations, if applicable. For research involving specific tools and materials, the specifications of the tools and materials used should also be clearly described. For qualitative research, such as classroom action research, ethnography, phenomenology, case studies, and other qualitative approaches, authors should describe the presence and role of the researcher, research subjects or participants, informants involved in the research, research location and duration, procedures for exploring and collecting data, techniques for ensuring data validity or trustworthiness, and ethical considerations where applicable. RESULTS

This section may be divided into subheadings. It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation, and the experimental conclusions that can be drawn.

DISCUSSION

Authors should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted from the perspective of previous studies and the working hypotheses. The findings and their implications should be discussed in the broadest context possible. Future research directions may also be highlighted. (Arial, 11 pt). 

TRANSFORMATIVE CONTRIBUTION

The “Transformative Contribution” section must explicitly explain the concrete impact of the research on educational systems, public policy, knowledge integration models, or social transformation. (Arial, 11 pt, max 150-200 words)

CONCLUSION

The conclusion should present the main findings of the study and clearly answer the research objectives or questions. It should highlight the key contributions of the study and explain their broader implications for theory, practice, or future research. The conclusion should be concise and should not merely repeat the results or discussion. Where relevant, limitations and recommendations for future research may also be briefly addressed.

LIMITATION AND RECOMMENDATION

This study has several limitations that should be considered when interpreting the findings. First, the study was limited to [research context/sample/data source], which may restrict the generalizability of the findings to other contexts. Second, the study focused primarily on [specific focus/variable/aspect], while other relevant aspects were not examined in depth. Third, the data were collected using [research method/instrument], which may have limited the scope and depth of the information obtained.

Future research should expand the scope of the literature search by including additional international and multidisciplinary databases and broader search terms. Further studies are also encouraged to examine the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Religious Education through empirical research, particularly in primary education, pesantren, and non-formal educational settings that remain relatively underrepresented in the existing literature. In addition, future research could investigate the long-term pedagogical, ethical, and religious implications of AI use in Islamic education through comparative and mixed-methods approaches. These directions may provide a more comprehensive understanding of how AI can be integrated into Islamic education while maintaining pedagogical, ethical, and religious considerations. REFERENCES

References should relate only to the material you cite in your article (this is not a bibliography). References must use APA 7th edition style and be listed alphabetically. References must include sources from at least three reputable international journals. Do not include any abbreviations. Any additional references should be included in the Additional Reading section. A minimum of 25 scholarly references is required. at least 70% of references must be from the last 10 years. 

The references, as well as in-text citation, must be written in APA format. Please use reference manager software (i.e. Mendeley). Otherwise, you need to make sure that each reference is cited properly in the body text, and vice versa. DOI must be included whenever available.
