Efektivitas Penggunaan Media Pembelajaran Sains di Sekolah Dasar (SD)

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana media pembelajaran sains yang efektif untuk anak-anak, terutama bagi anak-anak pada tingkat SD. Pemilihan dan pemanfoatan media pembelajaran sains yang efektif di SD sebaiknya merupakan media yang paling sederhana, mudah dipahami, mudah didapat dan berada di tempat yang terdekat dengan tempat tinggal siswa, atau lingkungan sekolah. Adapun beberapa contoh media pembelajaran sains yang efektif di SD antara lain: (I) Penggunaan media biji kacang hijau dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sains dengan menugasi siswa untuk menanam biji kacang hijau di dalam sebuah gelas plastik bekas air mineral (2) Penggunaan media benih padi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sains dengan metode field trip (mempelajari sains dengan langsung terjun ke lapangan atau langsung ke alam), anak-anak belajar bagaimana seorang petani menanam padi hingga memanennya. (3) Penggunaan media langsung di alam, misalnya media buah-buahan yang ada di halaman sekolah. Untuk mempelajari sains mereka lebih mudah memahami materinya, karena mereka dapat mempraktikkan langsung di alam.
