Jurnal Sosiologi Agama-Jurnal Ilmiah Sosiologi Agama dan Perubahan Sosial was first published by the Department of Sociology of Religion, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in March 2007 (print version). Since 2016, Jurnal Sosiologi Agama-Jurnal Ilmiah Sosiologi Agama dan Perubahan Sosial was published in both online and print versions twice a year i.e. July and December.
