This article proposes an investigation of the nature of Bani Israil as a way of understanding the behavior of modern people in the Post-Truth era. Although historians have many doubts as to who exactly is the Bani Israil who are repeatedly mentioned in the Qur’an because of the lack of historical evidence of Jewish community in the early days of Prophet Muhammad’s prophet hood, the name of BaniIsrail colored quite a number of stories in the Qur’an, especially the story of their dialogue with the prophets who convey the truth. This article will investigate Bani Israil as a community from a psychological point of view: how they behave in responding to the truth brought by the Prophets and exploring the factors that encourage the formation of such behavior according to the Qur’an. The investigation is done by searching the keywords of Bani Israil in the verses of the Qur’an along with other related keywords. Preliminary data from the Qur’an will be analyzed in the motive-state of action table. Thus the investigation of Bani Israil is expected to contribute in an attempt to understand the behavior of modern people in the Post-Truth era when prejudice plays a more important role than fact.
