Abstract

Artikel ini mengelaborasi gerakan protes secara digital yang dilakukan para suporter Sleman dengan memanfaatkan media sosial terhadap penangkapan salah satu suporternya. Para warganet kemudian berjejaring dengan para aktor media sosial seperti buzzer dan influencer untuk membangun partisipasi digital melalui postingan dan komentar. Dengan memanfaatkan trending topik Twitter, para warganet berhasil membangun dukungan di media sosial untuk memberikan dukungan dengan tagar (hashtag) #BebaskanYudhiAtauBoikot. Aksi protes digital ini telah berhasil membangun aktivisme digital dalam kerangka partisipasi digital. Kekuatan tagar yang ada di trending topik twitter bisa ikut memperkuat sebuah isu menjadi opini publik meskipun isu tersebut hanya berasal dari daerah seperti Sleman. Artikel ini berpendapat bahwa tagar Twitter yang bisa mencapai trending topik bisa sebagai bagian protes digital dan saluran aspirasi warganet dalam langgam demokrasi digital.
