Plagiarism Screening

Plagiarism is not tolerated at Journal of Business Management and Islamic Banking (JBMIB). The editor uses the result to determine whether or not there is a possibility of plagiarism – the similarity report is then sent to the author. The following are some of the Editorial Board's actions:

  1. A similarity index of greater than 40%: in this case, the article is rejected due to insufficient paraphrasing or citation, resulting in an outright rejection – NO RESUBMISSION IS ACCEPTED.
  2. A similarity index of between 25% and 35%: in this case, the publication is returned to the author for revision and enhancement. The author must provide accurate citations to comparable sources and proper paraphrasing for citations.
  3. A similarity index of less than 25%: in this case, acceptance or citation improvements may be necessary – all outsourced texts must be properly cited.

In the second and third cases, the author's article should be carefully revised (s). The author(s) are responsible for incorporating citations and paraphrasing into outsourced texts. When reviewing the submitted article, there should be a Turnitin report indicating that there is NO PLAGIARISM or less than 10% plagiarism.
