About the Journal

Kalijaga Journal of Islamic Religious Education (K-JIRE) is an open-access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and short communications in areas related to Islamic religious education and its teaching in schools or madrasahs.

K-JIRE is a periodic scientific journal published in Yogyakarta by the Bachelor Programme in Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.


This journal aims to provide a platform for ongoing discussion on relevant issues within its focus and scope, which can be empirically examined in the fields of:

K-JIRE uses Mendeley and Zotero as citation managers, and Plagiarism Checker & Turnitin for plagiarism screening.

K-JIRE's Editorial Advisory Board consists of scholars in the fields of education and Islamic education. All submitted articles are reviewed by two members of the Editorial Advisory Board (double-blind peer review), and in some cases, by other board members if necessary. Based on the evaluation reports, articles may be accepted or rejected.

The article evaluation process takes approximately three months. Authors are responsible for any errors in their published articles.

K-JIRE publishes four issues per year, in January, April, July, and October.
