Discipline Fields
The Editorial Board of the Jurnal Dakwah: Media Komunikasi dan Dakwah (Asian Journal of Da'wah Studies) invites submissions from various fields of da'wah and communication sciences. Please visit the journal's website to view its focus and scope.
Who Can Submit?
Anyone can submit original articles for consideration for publication in the Jurnal Dakwah: Media Komunikasi dan Dakwah (Asian Journal of Da'wah Studies), provided they hold the copyright to the submitted work or have permission from the copyright holder to submit the article. Authors are the initial copyright holders of their works (except in non-academic settings where authors, as a condition of employment, have agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).
General Submission Rules
Submitted articles must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication in any other journal or archival book (print or electronic). By submitting material to the Jurnal Dakwah: Media Komunikasi dan Dakwah (Asian Journal of Da'wah Studies), authors declare that the material is not under review by another journal (electronic or print) and that they will not submit it to another journal until the editorial decision process at this journal is complete. If you have concerns about the submission terms for this journal, please contact the editor.
Screening Process
Manuscripts may undergo preliminary screening to ensure they align with the journal's focus and scope. Our editorial policy entails that manuscripts are sent to two anonymous peer reviewers. We aim to make decisions on each manuscript within four months.
The Jurnal Dakwah: Media Komunikasi dan Dakwah (Asian Journal of Da'wah Studies) accepts articles in the form of original research articles and review papers.
This document outlines the structure for papers intended to disseminate original research conducted by scholars across various interdisciplinary fields. The goal is to provide new insights that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in community development, with a special focus on diverse groups, communities, and geographical regions within Muslim societies worldwide. These papers are generally extensive, ranging between 6,000 to 10,000 words, and should include the following sections:
All references should be organized alphabetically according to the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note). It is recommended to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote. For further guidance, please refer to the manuscript template provided [here].
This document serves as a guide for various manuscripts related to the stylistic framework of conceptual papers. Authors should clearly articulate their research methodology, especially when employing frameworks such as Systematic Literature Review (SLR) or similar approaches. Generally, review papers range between 5,000 to 7,000 words and should include the following sections:
References should be formatted alphabetically according to the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note). The use of reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote is recommended. For additional assistance, please refer to the manuscript template provided [here].
In general, manuscripts should be based on primary research, outstanding critical literature reviews, or practice innovations. Manuscripts should be typed in Baskerville font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and 'normal' margins (approximately 2.5 cm). All text should be left-justified without right alignment. Do not insert page breaks or bold text unnecessarily. Submission of an article implies that it has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere. Authors should declare this upon submission. The editorial board recommends authors to submit plagiarism check results using Turnitin or other software when submitting manuscripts to this journal.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are required to correct proofs before publication. The final manuscript accepted for publication should be considered definitive, and any subsequent corrections should be limited to typographical errors. Changes at this stage can only be made with the editorial team's approval. Text changes will not be accepted during the proof stage. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that permissions have been obtained for the use of copyrighted material from external sources, including online content. This journal prioritizes selecting articles that exhibit minimal errors in spelling, grammar, translation, and artwork preparation. To assist authors in improving and preparing their manuscripts for submission, we recommend that they review or edit their manuscripts before submission. This practice is intended to minimize errors before forwarding the manuscript to reviewers.
Reference Style
All references cited within the article text must be listed in the bibliography section. References should include those obtained from primary sources (consisting of scientific journals amounting to 80% of the entire bibliography) published within the last ten years. The remaining 20% may include research articles or research reports (theses, books, and other relevant publications). All mentioned references should be written using the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note) and arranged alphabetically from A to Z. To format citations and bibliography, it is recommended to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote.
Author Details
The authors' names do not need to be included in the article during submission. Author identities, including names, email addresses, and institutions, are stored in the metadata upon registration. During registration, it is expected that all author identities are completed, including first, second, and subsequent authors. If available, please also include ORCID IDs, WhatsApp-connected contact numbers, and social media handles (Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn). One author should be identified as the corresponding author, with their email address typically displayed in the article PDF (depending on the journal) and online article. The authors' affiliations should be those where the research was conducted. If any listed author changes affiliation during the peer-review process, the new affiliation can be provided as a footnote. Please note that no changes to affiliations can be made after your paper has been accepted.
