About the Journal

Al-Ahwal (P-ISSN: 2085-627X, E-ISSN: 2528-6617) is published twice a year, June and December, by Al-Ahwal Research Center of the Department of Islamic Family Law, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta since 2008 (first edition). Al-Ahwal always places Islamic Family Law and Gender issues as the focus of academic inquiry. With the fair procedure of double-blind peer review, Al-Ahwal consistently publishes research articles concerned with those fields under various dimensions and approaches.

Due to its development and contribution, Al-Ahwal has been accredited first grade (Sinta 1) since 2023 under on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Started in December 2021, Al-Ahwal has published some articles in English, and since 2022, full issues have been issued in English. Al-Ahwal is a member of Crossref. It has been indexed by: ScopusDOAJ, SINTA, BASEDimensionsUniversiteit LeidenOxford UniversityNelson Mandela UniversityPusan National University LibraryBoston University, and others.
