Masjid sebagai Ruang Representasi Publik: Kajian tentang Praktik Sosial dan Pemberdayaan Umat

Studi ini mengekplorasi praktik sosial dalam konsumsi ruang masjid dalam kerangka ruang representasi. Penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus ini dilaksanakan di Masjid Babah Alun. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa praktek sosial yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat dalam konsumsi ruang di Masjid Babah alun memiliki beberapa aktivitas dalam konsep ruang representasi. Masjid babah Alun tidak hanya untuk aktivitas beribadah saja tetapi banyak pemaknaan pada aktivitas representasi yang diproduksi sebagai ruang rekreasi, bersosiasisasi, belajar, tranformasi budaya dan ruang ekonomi. Temuan tersebut memberikan pesan bahwa Masjid dalam tatanan ruang produksi sosial tidak hanya sekedar sebagai sarana beribadah semata, tetapi banyak aspek untuk bisa diproduksi untuk mendorong dan mendukung upaya pemberdayaan umat.

This study explores social practices in the consumption of mosque space within the framework of representational space. This research using a case study approach was carried out at Babah Alun Mosque. This study revealed that social practices carried out by the community in space consumption at Babah Alun Mosque have several activities in the concept of representation space. Babah Alun Mosque is not only for worship activities, but also has a lot of meaning in representational activities that are produced as a space for recreation, socializing, learning, cultural transformation and economic space. These findings give a message that the mosque in the social production space is not only a means of worship, but there are many aspects that can be produced to encourage and support efforts to empower the people.
