Author Guidelines

The Journal of Legal Restoration is published twice a year. The first issue is released in June, and the second issue is released in December. The Journal of Legal Restoration contains various scientific articles on the study of Sharia (Islamic law) and positive law.

Criteria to be considered for articles:

  1. The article should have a scientific approach, focusing on legal or Sharia studies of current cases in the form of an article.
  2. Abstract: One paragraph, single-spaced, consisting of 100-150 words in both Indonesian and English languages, summarizing the essence of the entire article.
  3. The manuscript should be typed using Microsoft Word, with a word count of 5000-8000 words. The font type should be Garamond, font size 12, line spacing 1. The margins should be set as follows: top 3, bottom 4, left 4, and right 3, on A4-sized paper.
  4. The manuscript should be written in proper and correct Indonesian or English language.
  5. Footnotes should be formatted according to the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style (full note).
  6. The article should be the result of original research and not plagiarized. It should not have been published in any other journal before.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication, i.e. this journal.
  3. Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely as long as its integrity is maintained and its original authors, citation details, and publisher are identified.
