This edition presents five articles that explore critical issues in contemporary Islamic thought, ranging from religious tolerance and the epistemology of Islamic education to digital Sufism and hermeneutics. The study on Thâalbi and Ibn Achour highlights differing perspectives on tolerance during colonial-era Tunisia. The topic of digital spirituality is examined through the virtual relationship between teacher and disciple within the Syadziliyah and Naqshbandi Haqqani orders. The epistemological approaches of Al-Farabi and Ibn Sina are discussed in the context of Islamic Education 5.0. Meanwhile, Al-Hallaj’s pluralistic thought and Ibn Arabi’s hermeneutics enrich the discourse on religious moderation.
The contributors come from various institutions in Indonesia—Bandung, Surabaya, Padang, and Cirebon—as well as one international contributors from Tunisia, Austria and China reflecting a diversity of perspectives and approaches in Islamic studies.
