Artificial Intelligence Policy
Guidelines for Responsible AI Usage in the Al-Athfal: Jurnal Pendidikan Anak
For Authors
1. Ethical and Responsible Application
Authors must explicitly disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools throughout the research workflow, whether in data collection, data analysis, or writing support. Any AI-generated material included in the manuscript must be properly acknowledged. Authors are expected to adhere to relevant privacy regulations and secure informed consent when AI tools are used to process personal or sensitive information. They are also responsible for identifying and minimizing potential biases in AI systems to maintain fairness, validity, and neutrality in research outcomes. All AI-assisted content must comply with existing intellectual property and copyright rules.
2. AI in Research Methods and Data Processing
Authors need to thoroughly evaluate whether AI tools align with their research goals, particularly regarding accuracy, reliability, and relevance to the field of child research. Findings produced with AI assistance must be verified using established research standards to ensure scientific rigor and reproducibility. The journal also supports the adoption of interpretable AI models—those that provide clear and explainable outputs to strengthen the transparency of research methods and enhance comprehension of the results.
3. Academic Integrity and Original Work
All forms of AI assistance must be openly acknowledged following recognized academic citation practices. Manuscripts submitted to Al-Athfal: Jurnal Pendidikan Anak should demonstrate the authors’ own intellectual contributions, critical analysis, and scholarly originality, rather than depending heavily on AI-generated ideas or text.
4. Transparency in Peer Review and Research Collaboration
Authors are required to disclose AI usage during peer review and throughout collaborative work with co-authors or research partners. This practice promotes transparency and fosters constructive academic interaction. Research teams are encouraged to establish clear agreements regarding the use of AI tools, data management, and authorship roles from the beginning of the project.
For Reviewers
Reviewers must handle all submitted manuscripts as confidential materials. Uploading manuscripts to AI platforms may compromise confidentiality, proprietary rights, and data privacy, especially if sensitive or identifiable information is involved. Reviewers bear full responsibility for the content and integrity of their evaluations.
For Editors
Editors are expected to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and avoid uploading them to generative AI systems to prevent breaches of privacy and confidentiality.
