The journal uses a double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts. The following are the four main steps of the review process.
Step 1: Initial review (2 weeks)
Every article submitted to Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan, the Editorial team will first check for article component completeness of article components (e.g., a minimum of 25 references), alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, novelty, adherence to the journal's template and guidelines, similarity/plagiarism (maximum 20% is acceptable), and AI-generated content (with a maximum acceptable limit of 20%).
If the manuscript is unsuitable, it will be rejected without further review. The Editorial Team will email the author the initial review outcome (rejection of the manuscript).
If the manuscript is suitable, the Editorial Team will email the author the initial review outcome (accepted for review).
Step 2: Peer review (2-4 months)
The manuscript will be assigned to the section editor, who will then send it to at least 2 (two) peer reviewers in the relevant field to give proper assessment and judgement of the submitted manuscript. Each paper will go through a double-blind review process.
The result of the review will be communicated to the editor for onward transmission to the author(s). In a review result report, a reviewer recomments one of the following four:
a. Accept Submission,
b. Revisions Required,
c. Resubmit for Review or
d. Decline Submission.
Authors will accept a decision on the manuscript after receiving at least two review reports. In cases where the reports differ significantly, the Section Editor will invite additional reviewers before deciding.
If accepted, the Section Editor will return the manuscript to the author for formatting.
If revisions are required, the author must do them as suggested by the reviewers.
Step 3: Revision stage (2-4 weeks)
If required, the author(s) will revise the manuscript in light of the reviewers’ comments and suggestions and resubmit the manuscript within two to four weeks. When the manuscript is finally accepted for publication, the editor will schedule the publication and inform the author(s) of the particular number and volume of the journal in which the article will be published.
Step 4: Final decision
The revised manuscript will be accepted or rejected. This decision depends on whether the manuscript has been upgraded to a level suitable for publication. The manuscript will be rejected if it has not made the necessary changes.
If all revisions are finalized, the manuscript will be accepted and the Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision to accept the manuscript based on recommendations from the Section Editors/following approval by the Editorial Board.
