As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
The manuscript contains 5,000–8,000 words.
The manuscript is submitted in Microsoft Word format.
A minimum of two separate manuscript files have been uploaded: Manuscript with Author Details and Anonymous Manuscript.
The Anonymous Manuscript, including its file name, tables, figures, appendices, and any supplementary materials intended for reviewers, contains no author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments, identifying funding information, author contribution statements, or other information that could reveal the identity of the authors or their institutions.
The manuscript follows the current Edulab template.
The title complies with the journal's length and capitalization requirements.
All authors' names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs where available have been entered correctly.
One author has been identified as the corresponding author.
The manuscript contains an appropriate abstract and keywords.
The research problem, research gap, objectives, methods, findings, discussion, and scholarly contribution are clearly stated.
Ethical approval information is included where applicable.
Informed consent information is included where applicable.
Protection of children and vulnerable participants has been addressed where applicable.
Consent for publication has been obtained for identifiable participant information where applicable.
The Author Contribution Statement has been included where applicable.
The Funding Statement has been included.
The Conflict of Interest Statement has been included.
The Data Availability Statement has been included.
Any use of AI or AI-assisted technologies has been addressed in accordance with the AI Tool Policy.
Author Guidelines
Please ensure that your manuscript follows the word count requirements:
5,000–8,000 words (Journal Article)
All Manuscripts Must
Be submitted in Microsoft® Word.
Be typewritten in English or Indonesian.
Use references managed with the Zotero Application and cite at least 25 articles from highly indexed sources, including Scopus and Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, as well as at least 20 articles from nationally accredited journals or journals indexed by SINTA 2 (Indonesia Science and Technology Index).
Be written in an objective third-person point of view throughout. Use “the authors” or “the researchers”, not “I” or “we”.
Originality of manuscripts. Only ORIGINAL submissions will be accepted for publication. Manuscripts may not have been previously published or be submitted for publication elsewhere.
Revised manuscripts. Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan will not publish a manuscript that is a “revised” version of a manuscript that you published elsewhere. In order to be considered original, a manuscript must be at least 80% new material with no more than 200 consecutive words (properly cited) repeated verbatim from any previously published work.
Teaching notes. If you are writing a case study, please provide supplemental teaching notes as a separate document from your manuscript. These notes will be provided to readers interested in adopting your work as course material.
Plagiarism. Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan takes concerns of plagiarism very seriously. All manuscripts are checked for plagiarized passages prior to being accepted for publication. Please ensure that all information taken from outside sources is properly cited and that all thoughts are composed in your own words. All instances of plagiarism will be immediately returned to the authors for correction and may be cause for removal of the manuscript from the publication.
Titles. Titles may be no longer than 100 characters. Subtitles, if included, may be no longer than 50 characters.
All titles must be entered in title case. The first letter of each word should be capitalized unless that word is a preposition, conjunction, or article. The first word of the title or subtitle is always capitalized, even if it is an article, preposition, or conjunction.
Titles may not be written in all capital letters. For example, “CHAPTER TITLE” is incorrect; “Chapter Title” is correct.
Headings. Please format all headings as in the manuscript formatting templates. Heading names within the body of your text may be tailored to the content of the work. Headings and subheadings should NOT be numbered, for example, 1. Introduction, 2. Background, and so forth.
Images. A manuscript may include no more than 20 figures. Any figures or tables that do not meet the minimum specifications will be returned to the author(s) for correction. All figures must be submitted as separate files in .tif format. It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission to use any image currently under copyright by a third party. Please see the image guide for more information.
APA Style 7th Edition Citations. Please ensure that all information in your manuscript that is taken from another source is substantiated with an in-text reference citation. A minimum of 25 sources is required for each submission. References must follow APA Style 7th Edition Citations style. The publisher will return your submission for correction if references are not properly formatted. For more information and examples, please see Edulab Template.
Self citation. Researchers may need to cite their previously published works in order to communicate an idea effectively in their present manuscript. While Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan encourages the use of self-citations in these cases, self-cited works should account for no more than 50% of the total references in the manuscript.
LaTeX. LaTeX files are NOT accepted because they are not compatible with Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan’s typesetting program. As an alternative, authors are required to use MathType where appropriate.
Equations. If a symbol or equation can be typed directly into Microsoft Word, please do so. Otherwise, use MathType to format all equations. Authors can download a free trial version of MathType here: http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathtype/.
Copyediting and proofreading. It is crucial that complete copy editing and proofreading of your manuscript be conducted prior to submission to ensure proper use of the English language, proper grammatical structure, and correct spelling and punctuation. Manuscripts submitted to the publisher are considered to be in their final form and ready for publication as is.
Translation. However a manuscript is translated, content submitted to Edulab: Majalah Ilmiah Laboratorium Pendidikan must be written in clear English with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Note: The Manuscript Organization and Formatting Template is designed for the purpose of standardizing manuscript submissions and does not reflect how your work will actually appear in print. Format and design of the final publication is at the sole discretion of the publisher.
Please note that all manuscripts MUST be submitted through the online submission manager. Manuscripts submitted outside of the system will not be considered for publication.
