Contemporary Quran implements a rigorous editorial procedure and peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles.
The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Submission and Initial Screening
All manuscripts submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) are initially screened by the editorial team. This stage includes evaluation of:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope and focus
- Compliance with author guidelines
- Originality through plagiarism screening
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The review process follows a double-blind system to ensure objectivity and fairness.
Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback, focusing on:
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Methodological rigor
- Clarity and coherence of arguments
- Relevance of references and sources
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor will make one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revision
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Reject
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.
Final Decision and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing before publication. The final version is published online and assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
All stages of the editorial and peer-review process are conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Confidentiality, objectivity, and fairness are strictly maintained.
