Contemporary Quran is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all published works. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the editorial process.
This policy is developed in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international standards of academic publishing.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for plagiarism prior to peer review. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report to ensure that the manuscript meets the journal’s originality requirements.
The journal uses plagiarism detection software to identify similarities with previously published works. These tools may include, but are not limited to, Turnitin and other comparable systems.
Manuscripts with a high level of similarity may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected. As a general guideline, a similarity index exceeding 20% may be subject to further evaluation, depending on the nature of the similarities.
Actions on Detected Plagiarism
- Minor similarity: Authors will be asked to revise and properly cite sources
- Moderate similarity: Manuscript may be returned for major revision
- Severe plagiarism: Manuscript will be rejected immediately
If plagiarism is detected after publication, appropriate actions such as correction or retraction will be taken.
Authors are expected to submit original work and properly acknowledge all sources. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is considered unethical and unacceptable.
