Journal Ownership Policy

Introduction

This statement clarifies the ownership structure and governance of Contemporary Quran. Transparency in journal ownership is essential to ensure accountability, maintain trust in the publication process, and uphold the integrity of scholarly communication.

This policy is developed in accordance with best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aligns with international publishing standards adopted by major academic publishers.

Journal Owner

Contemporary Quran is owned and published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The Faculty acts as the official publisher and is responsible for providing institutional, administrative, and technical support for the journal’s operations.

Owner Responsibilities

The journal owner is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the sustainability and continuity of the journal
  • Providing infrastructure for publication (including OJS platform)
  • Supporting editorial and peer review processes
  • Maintaining ethical publishing standards in accordance with COPE guidelines

The owner does not intervene in editorial decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection.

Editorial Independence

While the journal is institutionally owned, editorial decisions are fully independent and are the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board.

The owner does not influence editorial decisions, peer review outcomes, or publication content.

Funding and Financial Policy

Contemporary Quran is supported by institutional funding from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought.

The journal does not charge article processing fees (APCs), and no commercial or financial interests influence editorial decisions.

Transparency and Accountability

The ownership structure, editorial policies, and publication processes are publicly disclosed to ensure transparency and accountability.

Any changes in ownership or governance will be clearly communicated through the journal’s official website.

Policy Enforcement
