Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

Authorship in the Journal of Business Management and Islamic Banking (JBMIB) recognizes scholarly contributions and entails accountability for the published work. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research, or who have contributed substantially to drafting or critically revising the manuscript.

All listed authors must approve the submitted version of the manuscript and the final version accepted for publication. Authors must also agree to be accountable for their contributions and cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, attribution, or ethical aspects of the work.

Individuals who provide technical, administrative, financial, or other support without meeting the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors. All authors are responsible for ensuring that authorship is assigned fairly, transparently, and in accordance with accepted publication ethics.

To ensure transparent and consistent recognition of individual contributions, JBMIB requires authors to provide an Author Contribution Statement using the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy (ANSI/NISO Z39.104-2022). Authors should select the roles that accurately reflect their contributions. An author may perform multiple roles, and a role may be shared by multiple authors.

CRediT is intended to describe individual contributions and does not independently determine eligibility for authorship. Authorship eligibility remains subject to the journal's authorship criteria. The 14 standardized CRediT contributor roles are listed below.
