JOURNAL STATISTICS
The Journal of Business Management and Islamic Banking (JBMIB) requires all authors, reviewers, editors, editorial board members, and publishers to disclose any competing interests that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, their scholarly judgment. Disclosure does not automatically disqualify an individual from participating in the publication process but enables the journal to assess and manage potential bias fairly and transparently.
Authors must disclose all financial, institutional, professional, personal, or other relationships that might reasonably be perceived to influence their research, interpretation of findings, or publication. A conflict-of-interest declaration is required even when no competing interests exist. Authors must also disclose relevant funding sources and any role played by funders in the research or preparation of the manuscript.
Reviewers must promptly disclose actual or potential competing interests and decline review assignments when their impartiality may be compromised. Editors must not handle manuscripts involving significant personal, financial, supervisory, institutional, or collaborative conflicts of interest. In such cases, a qualified and independent editor will be assigned to manage the manuscript. If the Editor-in-Chief has a conflict of interest, the matter will be delegated to an uninvolved qualified editor or editorial board member.
Declared competing interests will be assessed and managed through appropriate measures, including disclosure, recusal, reassignment, or independent review. The editorial office will document relevant management actions where appropriate. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's scope, and research integrity, and must not be influenced by publication fees, sponsorship, institutional affiliation, or other competing interests.
JBMIB requires authors to provide a conflict-of-interest declaration as part of the manuscript submission process. Authors must explicitly state either that a competing interest exists or that no competing interests have been declared. The journal maintains editorial independence from its financial, commercial, and institutional arrangements.
Where a declared conflict cannot be adequately managed, the affected individual must withdraw from the relevant editorial or publication task. JBMIB is committed to handling competing interests consistently and transparently to protect the fairness, credibility, and integrity of its scholarly publishing process.
