ESENSIA: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Ushuluddin is a semiannual international journal devoting special attention to questions of Islamic theology (uṣūl al-dīn). This topic illuminates the immense significance of Islam in the context of religious life, to which it has delivered unique perspectives, approaches, and range of contributions that are of abiding interest. ESENSIA is also collaborate with the Indonesian Association of Quranic Studies (AIAT) and the Indonesian Association of Hadith Studies (ASILHA).

Launched in the digital platform since 2011, ESENSIA provides scholarly but accessible peer-reviewed research articles, aimed at national and international academic readership, with both respect to scientific approaches to the field and to discoveries of new materials. The journal considers possible articles written in English and Arabic on the basis of its originality, multidisciplinary interest, research novelty, accessibility, timeliness, elegance and surprising conclusions. The opinions expressed in the articles are neither necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Team nor the Peer-Reviewers.
