Journal History

1. The “Jurnal Moderasi: The Journal of Ushuluddin, Islamic Thought, and Muslim Societies” is published by the  Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought, UIN (State Islamic University) Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. This institution is among the oldest Islamic universities in Indonesia. The Journal was first published in January 2021 and follows a biannual publication schedule, releasing issues in January and July each year.

2. The journal was established with the primary mission of assisting students in developing the knowledge and skills required to write scholarly articles with integrity. By providing opportunities to publish under a structured editorial and peer-review process, the journal encourages ethical academic writing, critical thinking, and responsible research contribution. 

3. Since 2021, the journal has officially implemented the Crossref DOI registration system through the DOI prefix 10.14421. This milestone marked the journal's commitment to enhancing the visibility, traceability, and international accessibility of its published articles. 

4. Since 2025, the journal has been indexed by GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) and MORAREF, by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, expanding its national visibility and accessibility.
