Why review for JPI?
Jurnal Pendidikan Islam (JPI) relies on expert, fair, and timely peer review to select manuscripts that make original and significant contributions to Islamic Education (within the horizon of Religious Studies).
Eligibility

Doctoral degree (or equivalent scholarly record) in Islamic Education/Religious Studies or related disciplines.

Recent publications (last 3–5 years) in reputable/indexed journals.

Methodological expertise (qualitative/quantitative/mixed methods).

Working proficiency in English and/or Indonesian.

No conflicts of interest with the manuscript/authors (recent co-authorship, same lab/department, supervisory ties, financial interests, etc.).
Reviewer responsibilities (SLA & ethics)

Accept/decline invitations within 3–5 days; submit the review within 14–21 days per round (or propose an alternative date).

Provide objective, confidential, and constructive reports under JPI’s double-blind policy and COPE-aligned ethics.

Evaluate originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance (incl. human-participants research), clarity, and contribution; indicate relevant missing literature.

Confidentiality & AI: do not share manuscript files or ideas; do not upload any manuscript text/data to public generative-AI tools. Limited use of tools to polish your review report is acceptable with human verification and without pasting confidential content.
Co-reviewing & training

Co-reviewing with a student/colleague is allowed only with prior editor permission. The co-reviewer’s name must be disclosed to the editor (not to authors) and bound by the same confidentiality.
Recognition

Annual reviewer certificate and optional listing on the JPI website.

ORCID iD encouraged for recognition of peer-review activity (where supported).

Strong performance may lead to consideration for Editorial Board roles.
How to apply
Email jpi@uin-suka.ac.id with subject “Reviewer Application – [Area of Expertise]”, attaching:

Short CV (≤5 pages) + ORCID; links to Scopus/Google Scholar (if available).

5–7 keywords for topical/methodological expertise; languages.

2–3 representative publications (full citations).

Brief note on prior peer-review experience.

Declaration of any standing conflicts of interest.
Reviews are conducted under JPI’s Peer-Review Policy and Publication Ethics (COPE-aligned).
